National Grid is set to cut out-of-hours repair callouts because it thinks it will be cheaper to pay the fines.
The company made a whopping £5billion in profits last year.
However, bosses reportedly believe they will save more money by scrimping on repair callouts even if they are punished with fines for it.
At the moment, National Grid will send out a repairman within three hours if notified between 7am and 7pm on weekdays.
On weekends, they must be notified at between 9am and 5pm.

If National Grid doesn’t attend, the company will be fined £35 for each failed callout.
That fine increases to £90 if a home is without power for more than 90 hours.
A source told The Sun: ‘The company used to put customers first but it’s all about cost-saving now. It’s wrong.’
National Grid said: ‘If we do make this change it will be on a trial basis, and we will continue to honour our commitment to work to restore customers’ power within 12 hours.’
