Scary Movie 6 is officially in development, although it’s currently unclear who will be returning or joining the franchise, Anna Faris may be a safe bet as long as the studio meets her conditions.
Faris starred as the iconic Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie franchise, in which she played the character in the first four movies but was left out for number five.
Although it has yet to be announced who is even in talks to return, Faris revealed what it would take for her to consider returning as Cindy for another Scary Movie outing.
While talking to People, the Scary Movie star confirmed that she would “love to reprise her role,” but only if she could do so alongside franchise co-star Regina Hall.
Hall famously played Brenda in the parody horror movie series.
She was also a fan-favourite who wasn’t in the latest instalment, Scary Movie 5, something fans of the movie franchise weren’t too happy with when watching in theatres.
In addition to her condition that Hall also returns, Faris went on to say that “money” will also be a key factor in her decision to return as Cindy.
“I would love to work with Regina again,” Faris told People.
“I just love her so much.”
She added: “We would make each other giggle all day long.”
“Regina Hall would be my answer [to return]. And money. But mostly all Regina!”
When asking our audience last month who they would like to see return most for Scary Movie 6, Hall and Faris were high on the list of stars fans hope to see most.
Faris ranked as the 3rd most hoped-for cast member to return for the sixth movie, while Hall ranked as 4th – with both receiving an incredibly high amount of votes.
In addition to Hall and Faris being voted into the top 5, Shawn and Marlon Wayans stole the top two spots by a long shot – they haven’t returned since Scary Movie 2.
Although the two Wayans brothers left the franchise for various reasons after the second instalment, fans believe enough time has passed for new deals to be made.
