Prime Video’s The Boys is gearing up for its fifth and final season.
Eric Kripke has recently teased that the season 5 will depict “the show’s version of the apocalypse.”
In a recent interview with LADbible, the showrunner mentioned that the intensity seen in the season four finale will lead to the most explosive season of The Boys yet.
Kripke said, “You know, I think the finale of season four really shows you that we’ve been planning five years all along because there’s no way a show goes one more season after the events of that finale.”
He continued, “As far as we’re concerned, it’s our show’s version of the apocalypse.”
He also added, “Homelander gets everything he has wanted from the beginning, which is to completely remake the United States in his image and according to his whims.”
“The Boys are at their lowest point; most of them are captured, and we worry for their future.”
With only one season remaining, the creator is planning a major event for the finale.
Kripke further stated, “I always look at it as of the five seasons, we’re kind of at that point, that’s sort of the end of the second act of a movie where everyone’s really at their low point, and they’ve all faced their own personal demons.”
“Now, they need to really come together in the fifth season and save the world.”
As of now, specific plot details for Season 5 of The Boys are scarce.
The final season is said to have eight episodes and is expected to feature some major A-list stars.
The Boys Season 5 is expected to arrive sometime in 2026. Meanwhile, the fourth season is currently streaming on Prime Video.
