Avengers League?
Marvel Cinematic Universe boss Kevin Feige has addressed fan hopes for an MCU and DC Universe crossover now that his friend James Gunn is running things at Warner Bros.
The potential of a crossover between the two franchises may be off the table for the foreseeable future, however, the comics managed to pull it off.
Although Gunn’s DC Universe hasn’t officially debuted on screens as of writing, Feige was asked about the highly demanded crossover nonetheless.
When talking with Collider, the MCU boss was asked if a “DC and Marvel” crossover will ever be on the cards for fans of the two superhero franchises.
“I think about it occasionally,” Feige revealed to the outlet.
“Any fan would think about it,” he added.
However, despite admitting he thinks about it alongside fans, Feige noted how a crossover between his and Gunn’s superhero franchises.
“I don’t know when in the heck that would ever happen,” Feige said.
He added that he doesn’t even know “how that would happen.”
“But we’ve been talking too long for me to go, ‘Never! We’d never be able to do that.’”
Although a crossover may not be on the cards anytime soon, Feige teased that they’ll “never say never” but added that – as of writing – there are “no plans” for it to happen.
He went on to talk about Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel who takes the torch from Henry Cavill in 2025.
“I’ve seen the paparazzi shots of the Superman set looking cool,” he revealed.
“[James Gunn]’s focusing on that. We’re focusing on this.”
Although fans may have to wait for a potential DC and Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover, Deadpool & Wolverine is now playing in theatres for superhero lovers to enjoy.
