Chelsea supporters are just days away from seeing their club back in action as the pre-season tour approaches.

Enzo Maresca will no doubt be looking to see which first team or even youth players have a part to play when he gets Premier League life underway with the visit of Manchester City to Stamford Bridge.

Tyrique George was one of those called up, with the 18-year-old having an opportunity to show the abilities many are aware he was.

One player who was not seen in the squad announced by the club was Trevoh Chalobah, despite his strong end to last season.

Chalobah is reportedly gutted about how his Chelsea career looks set to pan out, and supporters took to Twitter to share their discontent at the treatment of him too.

Chelsea fans fuming at Trevoh Chalobah treatment

One user said: “OH MY WORD. This is mental. Absolutely mental. He’s trained with the 1st team since the first day of pre-season, why do this now?

“A model professional, from your academy, who was integral to us qualifying for Europa at the back end of last season is being treated like this.

“Trev has a contract till 2028, Chelsea are playing a dangerous, stupid & unnecessary game.”

Another added: “Trevoh Chalobah spent 14 years in the Academy and on loan trying to play for Chelsea. Scoring on debut was a dream come true. It should never have come to this.”

A third claimed: “Whether you rate Chalobah or not, not taking him on the pre-season tour is absolutely disgusting.

Trying to force someone out who you gave a contract to until 2028 is just horrific and that fact he’s been at Chelsea since he was a kid makes it even worse. Such a bad message.”

Another said: “Chelsea’s behaviour towards Trevoh Chalobah is disgraceful and another massive mark against both the Sporting Directors. This is the sort of behaviour that is going to make players think twice about signing. They are already on thin ice and this is only continuing to shatter it.”

Finally, one user stated: “Trevoh Chalobah doesn’t deserve that treatment without doubt. It’s rubbishing his contribution to Chelsea.

“But let’s wait before passing judgement. He could be talking to another club already, you never know. Maresca will tell us more during his presser.”

Tosin Adarabioyo competing for minutes

The centre-back position is already going to have a lot of competition going into the new season, and has been added to by the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo.

The former Fulham man has reportedly really impressed in his early training sessions, and Adarabioyo’s new squad number suggests he could have an important role to play next season.

He will be competing for minutes with Wesley Fofana too, who didn’t feature at all last season due to a serious knee injury.
