One reported Chelsea target was recently asked about his future, and he refused to give his club’s supporters any guarantees.

It could be good news for Chelsea, who are yet to sign a winger for their first team. They were interested in Michael Olise, but the Blues could not get a deal for him over the line in the end.

Since then, they have been heavily linked with a few other wide men, which includes Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi.

If Raheem Sterling leaves Stamford Bridge this summer, then Adeyemi could end up joining Chelsea.

Karim Adeyemi on his future

Adeyemi is an attacker who is quite versatile. The 22-year-old can play on the left, where he was mostly used last season, and up front.

Chelsea like Adeyemi’s flexibility, and it does not look impossible for them to add that to Enzo Maresca‘s side after the German refused to rule out an exit from Borussia Dortmund.

When asked about his future, he told Ruhr Nachrichten: “I can’t say anything about that, I’m wearing a Dortmund shirt and I’m very happy to be wearing a Dortmund shirt.”

Adeyemi then went on to add: “There are no guarantees in life.” According to the Daily Mail, Dortmund have put a £35m price tag on the Germany international.

Borussia Dortmund exit could be good for Karim Adeyemi

Dortmund can be pleased with how their 2023/24 campaign went, though it obviously could have gone even better.

The German giants reached the Champions League final and managed to qualify for the competition this upcoming season. However, it was a bit of a mixed experience for Adeyemi.

The former Red Bull Salzburg man was not quite able to tie down a regular spot in the team. In the Bundesliga, he made 10 starts and 11 substitute appearances and also had to deal with a ligament problem.

With that in mind, joining another club this summer could benefit Adeyemi. However, with Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk still part of Maresca’s squad for now, there is no guarantee that he would be a starter at Chelsea either. Whatever the case, Adeyemi appears open to a Premier League move.
