Former Neighbours star April Rose Pengilly has taken a subtle swipe at the show’s producers after she was not asked to return for the upcoming reboot.
April, 34, spoke about the casting on Instagram on Thursday while sharing a handful of behind-the-scenes videos from her time on set.
The actress, who played Chloe Brennan for four years, said she did not know which characters would be returning next year.

‘Who’s excited for the new Neighbours?’ April wrote.
‘We don’t know who will be asked back yet (apart from the four who were initially announced),’ she added, confirming she hadn’t got the call-up yet.
The long-running soap opera was cancelled earlier this year when British TV network Channel 5 decided it wasn’t worth funding. Its last episode aired in July.

But in a shock twist months later, production company Fremantle signed on with a new broadcast partner, streaming planform Amazon Freevee.
The series will begin filming again in Melbourne early next year.

At the time the Amazon reboot was announced, several cast members – including Georgia Stone (Mackenzie Hargreaves), Matty Wilson (Aaron Brennan) and Takaya Honda (David Tanaka) – spoke of their surprise as they hadn’t been told anything.
In a press release from mid-November, Fremantle Australia’s Chief Executive Officer Greg Woods said the writers would start to plot new storylines immediately.
However, fans were left concerned whether their favourite characters would be left out of the new chapter.
