The father of Euphoria star Angus Cloud died from stage four lung cancer aged 65 – just months before his son’s own death.
Conor Hickey, 65, who had a close relationship with his son Angus, was suffering from stage four mesothelioma with cancer in both the lungs and heart, according to his death certificate seen by TMZ.
He died in his native Ireland in May shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Angus honoured his father in one of his final Instagram posts on July 14, which showed him in a red hoodie alongside the caption, ‘miss u breh’.
His actor son, who played drug dealer Fezco O’Neill in Euphoria, attended his father’s funeral just one week before he died in the family’s Oakland home.
Family friends revealed Cloud was so grief stricken that he was too ‘traumatised’ to attend a private ceremony to scatter his father’s ashes.
A 911 call was made by the actor’s mother reporting a ‘possible overdose’ at around 11:30am on July 31. She told operators that Cloud didn’t have a pulse and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A family insider told TMZ that Cloud had dealt with ‘severe suicidal thoughts’ after traveling to Ireland for the funeral, and that he was at his family home in an effort ‘to work though overcoming the grief’.
He was said by other mourners to be ‘very emotional’ as he struggled to come to terms with his father’s death.
Cloud’s cause of death has not yet been determined and an investigation has been launched.
Mr Hickey passed away on May 18 in his native Ireland. An obituary written by members of a rugby club with which he was associated said he died ‘after a short illness’.
Remembered as a ‘legend’ and a ‘gentle soul’ and a ‘force of nature’, the keen rugby player was born and raised in Ireland alongside three sisters before leaving for California in the 1980s, first moving to Los Angeles before moving to the Bay Area – where he set up home.
The couple had three children, their eldest Angus, followed by twin daughters Molly and Fiona Hickey.
Mr Hickey was married to Angus’ mother, Lisa Cloud – an actress who starred in American Beauty and The Parent Trap.
Despite living in the USA, Mr Hickey returned to County Meath every year for a ‘session’ with friends in a local pub, according to an obituary shared by the local Ashbourne Rugby Club.

After Mr Hickey’s death Cloud flew to Ireland with his mother and twin sisters to scatter the ashes at a 100-acre farm still owned by his late father.
While other family members attended a brief ceremony at the farm in Laurelstown, County Meath, Angus remained hidden away in his hotel room about three miles away.
Family friend Mick Gleeson said: ‘He was just so traumatised that he could not attend. He was in a very bad way and in total shock. He was in such a fragile state and struggling with the death of his father.
‘He was like a rabbit caught in the headlights and was just unable to come to terms with his loss.
‘I sat down with him and said he was now the man of the family, and he just could not handle it. He was a broken man.’
Another friend added: ‘I think coming back to his father’s place of birth and all that contained was just too much for him. He could not face the final goodbye to his father.
‘It is awful that he felt so overcome that his own life has come to an end.’
Angus was able to later regain his composure and was taken back to the family farm by an aunt to scatter some of the ashes.
He was also able to attend two other private ceremonies as the extended Hickey family said goodbye to their relative.
