A representative from Bauer Media UK said: “Jamie Crick was a broadcaster through and through and played an integral role on our radio stations.”

His colleagues from Jazz FM, Scala Radio, and the larger Bauer Media community considered him not just a coworker but a close friend. His absence will be deeply felt by everyone, including his listeners and friends.

“Our radio stations have a big gap to fill and will pay tribute accordingly in the near future, but while they all come to terms with Jamie’s unexpected passing, they will continue to broadcast “Our deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones at this time.”

Crick presented his final Jazz FM show on Monday (28 August). On the programme, he played tracks ranging from Roy Ayers’s “Everybody Loves the Sunshine” to The Dave Brubeck Quartet’s “Take Five”.

“I will see you in a couple of weeks, I’m just going to go and enjoy the rain,” he said as he ended his program. In 2014, the presenter began working for Jazz FM as a guest host. In 2015, she took over the morning show, and in 2016, she switched to the afternoon time slot.
