Millions of dollars worth of cocaine stamped with the image of Al Pacino’s fictional drug kingpin Tony Montana has been found after what police allege is a major bust across Sydney’s inner west.

According to NSW Police, 15kgs of cocaine, worth an estimated $22m on the streets, was allegedly seized at houses at Dulwich Hill and Drumoyne on Friday, with one man in custody and facing serious drug supply charges.

The episode unfolded after detectives from the Organised Crime Squad approached a property at The Parade, Dulwich Hill.

As officers pulled up to the property, a man who was removing a bag from the boot of a car tried to run from the scene but was arrested nearby.

In the bag, police allege they found a 1kg block of cocaine stamped with the image of Pacino’s Tony Montana character from the cult film Scarface.

The 22-year-old man was arrested and taken to Ashfield Police Station before police later raided another premises at Alexandra Street, Drummoyne.

NSW Police allege it was there that a further 14kgs of cocaine was found in the home’s garage.

Police estimate that the seized drugs have a street value of over $22m.

Organised Crime Squad commander, Detective Superintendent Peter Faux, said the bust should serve as a warning to the Sydney underworld.

‘This arrest and seizure means a significant quantity of an illegal drug is now off Sydney’s streets,’ Det Supt Faux said.

‘The arrest demonstrates the successful and effective combination of state-of-the-art technology as well as dogged, feet-on-the-ground investigative work by my team.

‘It also serves as a warning to those seeking to traffic illicit drugs in the community: the NSW Police is committed to identifying and arresting those involved in illegal activities and put them before the court.’
