Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has singled out Chelsea’s David Datro Fofana for special praise.

David Datro Fofana, who’s just 21, is a Chelsea-owned youngster that spent the first half of the season in Germany out on loan with Union Berlin.

However, the Blues recalled the young striker last month before sending him to Premier League rivals Burnley for the rest of this campaign.

Fofana’s certainly wasted no time making a good impression at Turf Moor.

The centre-forward’s made two Burnley appearances so far, both late cameos off the bench. However, he’s already weighed in with two goals and one assist.

Surely, he’s pushing for a first start when Vincent Kompany’s Burnley side travel to Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool boss Klopp has mentioned the threat of Chelsea loanee Fofana ahead of this weekend’s game.

He suggests that the 21-year-old attacker is a great addition for Burnley.

“Now [David Datro] Fofana has scored two goals, came on [against Fulham], game before I think he was involved in the goal as well. They have now somebody [who] looks like they can score goals, on top of all the other boys,” Klopp said via Liverpool’s official website.

If Fofana wants to get close to Chelsea’s first team next season, he’ll boost his chances massively if he can regularly score Premier League goals from now until May.

He’s a very raw striker with incredible pace, which makes him an interesting lifeline for Burnley in their tough battle against relegation.

It’s no secret that Chelsea desperately need a No 9 next season, so can Fofana emerge as an unlikely candidate in the next few months?

The Athletic reported 12 months ago that Chelsea’s staff rated Fofana as a greater option than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Stamford Bridge.

We’ll be keeping a very close eye on Fofana’s performances at Burnley. Likewise, Fulham’s Armando Broja is another striker loaned out by Chelsea in the second half of the season.
