Mauricio Pochettino has been handed a major injury boost heading into Chelsea’s game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park tonight.
Chelsea have been without Levi Colwill for their last four matches.
However, according to the Evening Standard, the defender has returned from injury and is in contention to play in south London later.
Colwill has made his comeback at the right time, with Benoit Badiashile now sidelined. The Frenchman will be unavailable for the trip to Selhurst Park.
In his pre-match press conference, Mauricio Pochettino said Chelsea needed to wait until Sunday to see if the 20-year-old would be fit enough for tonight’s London derby. It looks like he is.
Levi Colwill could start against Crystal Palace
With Badiashile missing the game, Colwill is a natural fit to come into the side.
Like the former AS Monaco man, Colwill is left-footed and a left-sided central defender as a result.

However, while the England international is a logical choice, he is just coming back from an injury, while Pochettino was using him as a left-back before he was sidelined.
It means there is no guarantee that Colwill will get the nod. Thiago Silva may have been dropped from the team for Chelsea’s last game, but the Brazilian is still an option as well.
In the long run, though, it looks like Colwill and Badiashile will be Chelsea’s two main options for the left centre-back position at Chelsea. The latter, however, is going to have to overcome his injury issues.
In the meantime, the Chelsea youngster and Silva could find themselves competing for that spot in the team.
After Palace, the Blues travel to the Etihad to take on Manchester City. Whoever starts at left centre-back that day, be it Colwill or Silva, will have to be at their best given the quality of opposition.
