Reports have shared that Mauricio Pochettino has had the power to make a rule this season that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has to abide by.

The owner has enjoyed a very hands on role at the club since taking over two years ago, with him reportedly highly involved in transfers in his first summer window at the club.

Boehly’s role seems to have taken somewhat of a backwards step this season though, with sporting directors being brought in to take on the on-field matters.

It has already been claimed that the American will not have a say in whether Pochettino is sacked at the end of the season, with that decision instead sitting with Behdad Eghbali.

Last season saw Boehly and co particularly keen on entering the dressing room after games, with their bad form seeing it normally come after defeats.

Pochettino bans Boehly from post-game speeches

Now, the Mail Online has claimed that the current manager does not have a problem with anyone on the board doing this, however he has set a rule that they cannot deliver any speeches to the squad without his permission.

A loss at home to Brighton last season saw an incensed Boehly enter the dressing room to blast the squad, taking a particular dig at Raheem Sterling.

Things turning around for Chelsea

While those at the top made a number of mistakes both on and off the pitch in their first year at the club, it does feel as if things are beginning to turn around for the club.

Their latest win, a 5-0 thrashing of London rivals West Ham, saw them enter the European places for the first time in a while, offering hope that Pochettino can keep his place at the club.

However, it has been reported that the owners are demanding Europa League football as a minimum, meaning a top six placing is required this season.
