Chelsea’s Malo Gusto was super impressive during Monday night’s comeback win away to Crystal Palace.

That is according to Jason Cundy.

Chelsea came from behind last night to end up recording a 3-1 victory over Palace in the Premier League.

The Blues were excellent last week when they dumped Aston Villa out of the FA Cup. Therefore, fans were very disappointed to watch a sluggish opening 45 minutes against Palace yesterday, where they went into half-time losing 1-0 at Selhurst Park.

However, central midfielders Conor Gallagher (two) and Enzo Fernandez responded with Chelsea goals in the second-half to earn three valuable points on the road.

Jason Cundy did single out Chelsea’s Malo Gusto for his eye-catching display on Monday evening.

The £26m right-back (Sky Sports) was praised for his overall impact versus Palace.

Cundy said via Chelsea’s 5th Stand App (9:32pm, 12 February): “Gusto, who’s had a really fine second-half, he’s been excellent…”

He later added (9:49pm): “Gusto has been brilliant. Sensational from him.”

Impressive Malo Gusto

Like so many of his performances this season, Gusto impressed for Chelsea as a real bright spark up and down the right.

We can see the 20-year-old French youngster loves the aggression and physical side of the game when he’s defending. We’ve noticed most wingers in the division find it difficult 1v1 against him.

On top of that, the attack-minded right-back does have real quality going forward. He chalked up his sixth assist of the campaign when his cross picked out Gallagher for his opener against Palace.

We’ve seen in back-to-back games Gusto link up with Chelsea wingers such as Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke to great effect. It’s going to become increasingly more and more difficult to leave him out of the starting line-up whenever Reece James does return from injury.

Speaking via Sky Sports yesterday, Gary Neville raved about Gusto for his Chelsea display during the win against Palace.
