Yannick Bolasie was a fan favourite during his time at Crystal Palace, but that did not stop him from praising one Chelsea player last night.

His former club took on Chelsea at Selhurst Park, losing 3-1 to the visitors.

Goals from Conor Gallagher, who grabbed himself a brace, and Enzo Fernandez won the game for the Blues. However, it was Cole Palmer who Bolasie was really impressed with, describing him as a “baller” after the match.

Chelsea and Palmer started the game slowly, going 1-0 down in the first half. However, they really came alive in the second 45 minutes, especially the attacker.

Palmer, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City in a £45m deal (Evening Standard) last summer, managed to come up with two assists to help his team complete their comeback.

Bolasie is not wrong and Palmer’s numbers prove that. His assists at Selhurst Park were his fifth and sixth of the season in the Premier League.

As well as create goals, the Englishman has also been able to score them. In the top flight this term, he has netted 10 times, meaning that he has come up with 16 goal contributions in 23 appearances since arriving at Chelsea.

Even when Mauricio Pochettino‘s men have not been able to win games this season, former Liverpool player Danny Murphy thinks Palmer has still been good.

He has easily been one of the signings of the summer and will have another chance to show City they made a mistake selling him when Chelsea travel to the Etihad on Saturday.

The England international has already punished Pep Guardiola’s side in the current campaign, scoring a last-minute penalty against them back in November. It made the final score of the game 4-4, ensuring that the home side finished proceedings with a point. Hopefully he can hurt them again at the weekend.
