Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is rightly a popular name in the media right now after more heroics on a football pitch last night.

Cole Palmer scored his first senior career hat-trick yesterday in a memorable 4-3 win for Chelsea over Manchester United in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old’s had zero difficulty adjusting to life at Stamford Bridge, scoring 19 goals in 36 Blues appearances so far. He’s got 12 assists as a chief playmaker, too.

Cole Palmer loves playing Man United

Palmer grew up supporting Man United as a child despite coming through the Man City academy, so there must be something extra special when he plays them.

The right-winger scored four goals in the two league matches against Man United this campaign.

Interestingly, there’s still a chance he could face them again this season in the FA Cup final..

Chelsea have got to get past Man City in their cup semi-final later this month. Meanwhile, Man United play Championship club Coventry City in their semi.

Glenn Hoddle in awe of Cole Palmer

Glenn Hoddle, the former Chelsea player and manager, is amazed by what he’s just seen from Palmer.

Speaking straight after Chelsea’s win over Man United on Thursday, Hoddle waxed lyrical about Palmer’s quality on a football pitch. In particular, he loves the youngster’s ice cold calmness whenever he’s around the penalty box, whether that’s in open play or a spot-kick.

When discussing Palmer on the Premier League’s official website, Hoddle said: “He’s been brilliant. He’s only 21….He’s held that team together. In some of the performances this year, he’s been their only player.

“He’s scoring goals and creating. Everything he does you can see what he’s trying to do…

“He’s a provider, he creates chances. But my word, in and around that penalty area, he’s got that calmness that top-quality players have. He never panics. He’s got a lovely left foot. He plays with his head up beautifully.

“We haven’t half got some skilful players in this country. He’s going to end up nearly top of the list.”
