Jason Cundy claims Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has exceeded everyone’s expectations so far this season.

Cole Palmer had played just 41 first-team games for Manchester City before joining Chelsea last summer, many of them as a substitute.

However, the 21-year-old’s now one of the first names on the team sheet at Stamford Bridge. We’re struggling to think of many youngsters in the world enjoying a better season than him, too.

Palmer’s been truly sensational in the last few months in an inconsistent team, scoring 12 goals and making nine assists in 28 Chelsea appearances.

The left-footed playmaker would definitely be in our England squad for Euro 2024 this summer.

TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy admits that he, along with the rest of the Chelsea fanbase, has been stunned by how good Palmer actually is.

“Palmer’s the difference. He’s the difference maker the kid… He’s been brilliant for us. He’s been so good. I think most people at Chelsea, he’s been better than we thought he would be. I’m pretty sure the City fans are thinking he’s been better than that as well,” Cundy told talkSPORT.

Cole Palmer the difference for Chelsea

At the age of 21, Palmer is frequently starring in Premier League games and rewarding Chelsea for their investment in him.

We think many raised their eyebrows when the Blues paid £45 million (Evening Standard) to sign Palmer from Man City, but that now looks like a bargain deal in the current transfer market.

Hopefully, he can continue this form and development in the months ahead.

We’re anticipating something special for Palmer in the next two games. Chelsea travel to Man City this Saturday before they face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

Speaking via talkSPORT this week, Ally McCoist praised Palmer for taking on extra responsibility since joining Chelsea. If we’re to get a positive result in the next couple of matches, we guess he’ll have to be on top of his game.
