Former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly has now made a piece of history with his new team this season.

As reported by BBC Sport, the Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal broke the record for the most consecutive victories in a row in world football.

Koulibaly made the move out there last summer off the back of just one season at Chelsea.

Many had been waiting for the Senegal international to make the move to the Premier League after hearing and seeing so much positive stuff about him in his career.

With that being said, it was quick to see that he was not really at the level the Premier League demanded, and he found himself far from a regular at Stamford Bridge.

Therefore, he was on the move after just his first campaign at Chelsea, moving to Al-Hilal for a fee of around £20m.

Koulibaly helps set world record

He was one of a number of Chelea players who over summer switched the Premier League for the Saudi Pro League.

N’golo Kante, who was sent off the other day, didn’t sign a new contract with the Blues, whilst they also parted company with Edouard Mendy just a couple of years after he was seen as one of the best in the world.

It was Koulibaly though who has been setting records, with his side currently on a run of 28 wins in a row.

They have gone on this run without Neymar too, who is set for a prolonged period on the sidelines.

While not much is heard of the former Chelsea players out there, it is always a positive to see a former player performing well.
