A man is recovering in hospital after he was shot during an alleged home invasion in Sydney’s south.

Emergency services were called to Carrathool Street in Griffith about 11.15pm yesterday where they found the man with gunshot wounds to his leg.

Police said officers were told that three males forced entry into the home through the front door when the man was shot.

A second resident of the home was allegedly threatened with a gun but not injured.

The alleged home invaders then fled the scene.

The victim was driven by the other male occupant to Griffith Base Hospital where he was later transferred to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established, and an investigation into the shooting is under way.

Police said there is no ongoing risk to the public.

Anyone with information – or who may have been in the vicinity at the time with any dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
