Six teenagers have been arrested and a woman is in hospital after police were led on a dangerous chase through Adelaide’s south by two allegedly stolen cars.

The two cars, a Mitsubishi Pajero and a white Volkswagen Amarok ute, were spotted by police driving side by side along Shepherds Hill Road just after midnight.

The dangerous chase came to an abrupt end after one of the cars allegedly drove onto the wrong side of the road and collided with another car, injuring a woman.

Police say both cars then drove onto Sturt Road, where the ute was successfully spiked but failed to stop.

The Pajero continued on the wrong side of Sturt Road and collided with a Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Marion Road at Mitchell Park.

Three teenagers in the Pajero were arrested and taken to hospital where they are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Corolla, a 51-year-old woman from Coromandel Valley, suffered leg and arm injuries and was taken to hospital.

The driver of the Pajero, a 15-year-old boy from Albert Park, and two passengers, a 13-year-old boy from Davoren Park and a 16-year-old boy from Brooklyn Park were all charged with serious criminal trespass and theft of a motor vehicle.

All three teenagers have been refused bail and will appear in court.

It’s believed the car was stolen from a property in the Coromandel Valley on April 1.

Police said the second stolen Volkswagen was followed by police helicopter and dumped just before 1am on Price Street, Melrose Park.

Police dogs soon tracked down three teenagers, a 13-year-old boy from Ottoway, a 14-year-old boy from Port Adelaide and a 15-year-old boy from Henley Beach South.

All three have been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and breach of bail.

It’s believed the Volkswagen was stolen on Saturday from a Hallet Cove address.

The 15-year-old was refused bail and will appear in court tomorrow.
