TEXAS COUNTY, Okla. (TCD) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating the “suspicious disappearance” of two women whose car was found abandoned in a rural area.

On March 30, the Texas County Sheriff’s Department put out an endangered missing advisory on behalf of 27-year-old Veronica Butler and 39-year-old Jillian Kelley, who they considered to be “at-risk.” The advisory said the two women were “traveling together to pick up children,” but they never made it.

The Texas County Sheriff’s Department reached out to OSBI for assistance in the case, and they have taken the lead on the investigation. OSBI said the vehicle they were driving was located on Highway 95 near Elkhart, Kansas.

Butler is 5-foot-4, has red hair and green eyes, and was last seen wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt, denim shorts, and Hey Dude shoes. Kelley, who has brown hair and blue eyes, was last known to be wearing whitewashed jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, and tan or beige shoes.
