Chelsea look prepared in the event that they have to sack Mauricio Pochettino.

Mauricio Pochettino is not doing too well at Chelsea at the moment, with his side currently sitting ninth in the Premier League table.

The Argentine can still lead the Blues to FA Cup glory, but this season is undoubtedly going to go down as a disappointing one given that the club’s objective was to qualify for the Champions League.

Chelsea’s failure there could see Pochettino get the sack, and his employers seem to have a few Premier League managers in mind who could potentially replace him.

Despite Pochettino’s struggles this term, Everton boss Sean Dyche has had some nice things to say about his opponent on Monday night.

Chelsea’s candidate list

If Chelsea do decide to get rid of Pochettino, it looks like they will have a list of options to replace the former Paris Saint-Germain good.

The above includes a few Premier League managers, such as Brentford’s Thomas Frank.

Speaking about who could come in to replace Pochettino should the 52-year-old be dismissed at the end of the season, Simon Phillips wrote on his Substack: “Other names that have been mentioned by a collection of my top sources as being on the candidate list are Roberto De Zerbi, Thomas Frank, Ruben Amorim, Xabi Alonso, Arne Slot, and obviously Howe as above.”

Should Thomas Frank replace Mauricio Pochettino?

Frank has done a fantastic job with Brentford in the Premier League.

The 50-year-old guided them to the top flight in 2021 and they have not looked back since then. He is certainly not the worst manager out there.

However, before Chelsea started looking at someone like Frank, it would perhaps be better for them to go after a more proven name first.

With the decline that the Blues are on, they cannot afford to make any more managerial mistakes if they do choose to head in a new direction this summer.
