Mauricio Pochettino has been under pressure pretty much ever since he took over at Chelsea last summer.
There were a number of supporters who were unable to get over the fact that he had enjoyed a successful spell in charge of Tottenham, although doing the Premier League double over them this season was a massive moment.
They now look more likely than not to qualify for European football next season, which is certainly an achievement based on where they found themselves just a few weeks ago.
It has been reported though that this may not be quite enough to satisfy Todd Boehly and co, with the owners reportedly demanding Europa League football as a minimum achievement.
He has not been helped in his quest to achieve this by the raging injury problems that have plagued them at Stamford Bridge this season.
One of those who has dropped out was Enzo Fernandez, who underwent surgery recently that ended his season early.
Pochettino caught out lying over Injuries
The Argentine has stated recently that he was playing through injury for quite a while, which poses questions about why he was relied on so heavily.
A clip has emerged on the Twitter of MaxLondonsFirst of the manager reacting angrily to a question that inferred he was using players who were suffering with injury.
While there is no evidence that Pochettino has in any way made the World Cup winner’s problems worse by continuing to play him, there is certainly a thought that there was no need to continue to push him beyond his capacity.
This has proven especially true after seeing how the team has done without him. Pochettino has stumbled across a diamond in the midfield partnership of Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher.
They have no doubt been helped out by Marc Cucurella too, who has been inverting from left-back to great success in recent weeks.
