Former National Rugby League player Brandon Wakeham is facing court today after he and two other men were charged with alleged large-scale drug supply.

The 25-year-old, who played for the Bulldogs and West Tigers, was detained by police from Strike Force Verbena during a training session at Chester Hill in Western Sydney yesterday.

Following a search of his car, police seized one kilogram of MDMA, 56g of cocaine and about $50,000 in cash.

Wakeham is facing 12 charges, including firearms, drug supply and dealing with proceeds of crime offences.

Another man, a 47-year-old, was also arrested and following a search of a home at Sans Souci in Sydney’s south officers seized electronics, prohibited drugs, and other items.

Authorities also froze about $10 million in assets linked to him. 

He was charged with 10 offences.

Another 25-year-old man was arrested at a park in Brookvale on the Northern Beaches yesterday and charged with various drug offences.

Soon after in a raid of a Bexley apartment police confiscated an encrypted electronic device relevant to their investigation.

The three men were refused bail and are due to appear in court today.

Investigations are continuing.
