An investigation is underway after a man allegedly stole a high-end motorcycle during a test drive in Melbourne last month.

It’s believed an unknown man attended a showroom on Wirraway Drive in Essendon Fields at about 11am on Monday, April 22.

He took a dark green Ducati Streetfighter V2 for a test drive but failed to return.

He left behind a fake licence.

The bike had a registration plate of DMW12 and is worth about $25,000.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is believed to be of Middle Eastern appearance and in his early to mid-40’s, about 180cm tall, and is of slim build.

He was seen wearing a black jacket with a grey hooded jumper underneath, blue pants and black shoes.
