Emergency Services were called to a home on Murrabin Avenue in Matraville at 6.15pm today.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a man but he died at the scene.
A crime scene was set up.
Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command, assisted by detectives from the homicide squad, started an investigation.
