A second man has been charged over a home invasion that left a man fighting for his life in Sydney last month.

At about 4.40pm on Tuesday, May 21, police were called to a home on Wattle Crescent, Pyrmont, after reports a 38-year-old man had suffered serious head and arm injuries.

He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 37-year-old man and charged him with breaking and entering and grievous bodily harm.

He appeared in court May 22, when he was formally refused bail to appear again on July 17.

At about 9.20pm yesterday, investigators attended a home on Edna Avenue, Merrylands, and conducted a search warrant at the premises.

He was refused bail to appear before court later today.

The investigation continues.
