A woman was allegedly caught driving five times over the legal blood alcohol limit in Melbourne’s west yesterday.
Officers intercepted the driver on Barries Road in Melton about 1pm before discovering she had an allegedly cancelled licence.
The woman underwent a preliminary breath test before she visited a nearby station, where she returned an alleged evidentiary result of .270.
The Melton South woman had her car impounded for 28 days at a cost of $1006 and is expected to be charged on summons with traffic offences.
The intercept was part of Victoria Police’s statewide road policing operation over the King’s Birthday long weekend.
More than 7000 offences were detected by police over the past four days, with 2855 of those being speeding offences.
