A man has been charged after allegedly applying for fraudulent government relief claims worth nearly $400,000.

Police will allege the 34-year-old man from South West Rocks on the state’s Mid North Coast made multiple applications for government relief grants between February and May 2020 for a total of $390,000, of which $40,000 was paid.
