A hunt is underway for an alleged arsonist after two cars and a motorbike were set alight in Sydney’s Inner West overnight.

The Mazda CX5 and a Honda Dio 110CC motorbike were parked on Susan Street in Annandale when they were allegedly torched at 4am today, in what police believe was a targeted attack.

Firefighters believe the blaze was deliberately started inside a yellow bin before it spread to the bike and car alight.

The flames were so intense they also spread to a tree and a second parked car, a Honda Jazz.

The owner of the Mazda and motorbike, Jason Corlett, watched as the flames engulfed his vehicles.

“We evacuated, and the car behind me and my bike behind that were all ablaze,” Corlett said.

“It’s completely gone I’m really surprised there’s no real rim at all it’s melted away.”

The owner of the Honda, Rachel Ha, told 9News she thought her car would make it out unscathed.

“I was like ‘maybe my car is fine it hasn’t caught any of it’… but after about half an hour we were able to look at it and saw that it had been damaged,” Ha said.

The hatchback’s rear was charred by the flames.

Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said the fire is being treated as suspicious.

“Car fires in particular can take hold really quickly, they’ve got a high fuel load in them with the rubbers, plastics, fuels and oils,” he said.

NSW Police confirmed an investigation into the fire is underway.
