Gabriel Agbonlahor has singled out one Chelsea player for a bit of criticism after his recent performance for his country at Euro 2024.

Chelsea fans tuning into this summer’s Euros tournament will be able to enjoy watching a host of their players in action for their respective nations.

Romelu Lukaku, who’s still technically a Chelsea player, just had a nightmare time in Belgium’s first match of the group stages.

Incidentally, the 31-year-old striker is due back at Stamford Bridge this summer after scoring 21 goals in 47 games last season during a loan spell in Italy with Roma.

Journalist Ben Jacobs reported via GIVEMESPORT last month that Chelsea have verbally agreed with Lukaku that they’ll sell him this summer if any club meets his £38m price tag.

Gabriel Agbonlahor not impressed by Chelsea player

TalkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has criticised Chelsea’s Lukaku after his recent international display.

Belgium suffered a shock 1-0 defeat on Monday night against Slovakia, which leaves them with work to do in their group.

Lukaku had a 90 minutes to forget because he had two goals ruled out by VAR, plus he wasted several other glorious chances to get on the scoresheet.

The centre-forward is usually so clinical in a Belgium shirt, netting 85 goals in 116 caps, but lacked sharpness and end product yesterday.

Agbonlahor assessed Lukaku’s performance on talkSPORT (10:29am, 18 June).

He said: “Lukaku, for me, looked very sluggish last night. I was watching him. When Lukaku is fit and at it, you would have scored the two chances he had in the first half that he missed.”

Romelu Lukaku will come good at the Euros

Lukaku had an off-night for Belgium versus Slovakia, but don’t be surprised to see him find his score in boots as the tournament progresses.

The Belgians play Romania and Ukraine in their remaining two group matches.

Lukaku isn’t suited to leading in the line at Chelsea anymore, but let’s hope he impresses to boost his valuation.
