A police helicopter monitored the vehicle as it travelled from the Gold Coast towards Logan after it entered the state from the New South Wales border at about 1.15pm.
Officers stopped the driver after a chase near Stapylton on the Gold Coast after he got out of the truck.
Investigations into the chase are continuing.
