You would be hard pushed to find many players currently playing their football at Chelsea who have been there for any real length of time.

It only takes looking back to the Champions League final three years ago to see only Reece James and Ben Chilwell remain from the side who started the victory over Manchester City.

For a club who have not been shy about changing their manager in the modern era, they seem to have followed down that path with the playing staff ever since Todd Boehly came in as the new owner.

Players like Mason Mount looked a surefire bet to be a Chelsea player for the majority of his career, however even he wasn’t safe from the new regime.

Jamie Cumimng to leave Chelsea

Now, it looks as if one of the longest serving players could be set for a move on a permanent basis, with it being reported by journalist Alan Nixon that Jamie Cumming was set for a move to Oxford United.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at the very same club, making 20 appearances in the league.

He seemed to impress those while he was there, with defender Zak Jules describing him as ‘outstanding’.

It does feel as if despite the length of time he was at the club, the opportunity seemed to have past the goalkeeper by to make his way into the first team picture at Stamford Bridge.

The goalkeeper situation is one that currently remains unclear next season, with the thoughts of new manager Enzo Maresca likely to be taken into consideration.

It was reported that the Italian brought up Djordje Petrovic for praise during the interview process in getting the job.

However, since then it has emerged that he is looking forward to the prospect of working with Robert Sanchez, leaving it unclear who will start the season between the sticks against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
