Chelsea and a few other Premier League clubs could soon find themselves in a bit of bother.

The Blues are just one side who have been involved in transfer deals that are now being questioned by some of their rivals in the top flight.

As per BBC Sport, Chelsea have agreed to sign 18-year-old Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa for £19m despite him having played less than 45 minutes of Premier League football.

Villa, meanwhile, have signed Lewis Dobbin from Everton, while the Toffees have brought Tim Iroegbunam in from the Villans.

The trading between these clubs is now coming under scrutiny.

Why Chelsea, Aston Villa and Everton’s transfer business is being scrutinised

According to The Telegraph, the Premier League is going to look at all transfers for fair value.

The outlet claims that some clubs feel that the sales of young players between Chelsea, Aston Villa and Everton are being driven by the need to generate profit in order to comply with the division’s spending regulations.

The Telegraph’s report says there is now scepticism as to whether the fees being paid are actually realistic valuations of the players involved.

As of now, though, Chelsea, Villa and Everton have not been accused of any wrongdoing.

Chelsea’s very interesting transfer window

It is only June and Chelsea are already in the headlines for their transfer business.

Away from all of the profit and sustainability talk, though, in terms of players who the Blues could bring in to genuinely improve their team, they are currently being linked with Lille’s Jonathan David.

It has been reported that they have discussed signing the striker and that he wants to move to the Premier League.

David scored 26 goals in 47 appearances for Lille last season. With a record like that, he could be the perfect man to come in and provide competition for Nicolas Jackson.

With BBC Sport claiming that David will cost less than £30m this summer, he is also not the kind of player who is going to cause Chelsea financial problems now and later down the line.
