Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been speaking about Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Enzo Maresca both worked with each other when the Italian was still managing at the King Power Stadium.

Maresca spent just one season there before joining Chelsea to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

He will take on another one of his former clubs, Manchester City, in his first game as Chelsea boss when the Premier League kicks off in August.

And Dewsbury-Hall is expecting big things from his former manager following his switch to Stamford Bridge.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall on Enzo Maresca

Since Maresca’s departure, Leicester have hired Steve Cooper, who is a very capable manager.

It was the 44-year-old who got Nottingham Forest back into the top flight of English football and managed to keep them there before he was dismissed from the City Ground.

However, it looks like Dewsbury-Hall is one Leicester star who is going to miss Maresca.

The 25-year-old thought he was “unbelievable” for the Foxes and has tipped him to become a “top manager” one day.

Speaking to BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella about the Italian, Dewsbury-Hall said: “Enzo was an unbelievable manager. I genuinely see him becoming a top manager, so it wasn’t a surprise to see he was in demand.

“It is weird having to change a manager after being so successful, but that’s football.”

Will Enzo Maresca really go on to become a top manager?

Maresca has worked closely with arguably the greatest manager ever in Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

His tactics are quite modern as well, with the former Parma boss utilising an inverted full-back in his system, for example.

Simply put, Maresca has the makings of a very good modern-day coach, and Chelsea obviously believe that, too. If not, they never would have given him a five-year contract, which is quite rare these days.

It will now be interesting to see if Chelsea actually give Maresca the time to develop into a top manager at Stamford Bridge. History tells you they will not, so he may have to hit the ground running in west London.
