Chelsea have reportedly been offered the chance to sign one player from a Premier League rival.

So far this summer, Chelsea have signed defender Tosin Adarabioyo to improve their first team.

The Blues now looked to have moved on to their attack but are struggling to get any deals through the door.

For example, a deal for Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise collapsed. According to The Athletic, Chelsea pulled out after the finances involved became too much.

As well as Olise, another winger will definitely not be moving to Stamford Bridge during this transfer window.

Chelsea offered Premier League winger

There was also another wide man from the Premier League who Chelsea had the opportunity to sign this summer.

Journalist Simon Phillips recently claimed that Jadon Sancho‘s agent offered the Manchester United player to Chelsea, but the club said no.

On his Substack, Phillips said: “Agent offered him to Chelsea, Blues politely said no thank you — not the right fit.”

Should Chelsea have considered signing Jadon Sancho?

Jadon Sancho has had a difficult time at United since his £73m move there. Had everything been going smoothly for him there, the 24-year-old would not have had to join Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.

Despite his struggles at Old Trafford, Sancho is still a player who has a lot to offer.

The England international is a wide man who can play on either flank and is a very good dribbler.

As per FBref, Sancho has ranked in the 92nd percentile for progressive carries and the 96th for successful take-ons among attacking midfielders and wingers over the last year.

At his best, Sancho is also a very productive attacker.

For example, back in the 2019/20 season during his first spell at Dortmund, the United man scored 17 goals and provided 16 assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances.

With Chelsea looking for a winger, Sancho was worth a punt, but the Blues obviously have other wide men in mind.
