Chelsea reportedly offered one of their players to Newcastle United in their bid to sign Alexander Isak.

At the same time, though, it looks like Chelsea are still happy with him.

The Blues seem keen on Alexander Isak, with it being claimed that they have been in touch with Newcastle to sign the 24-year-old.

Isak was in great form for Newcastle last season, scoring 20 goals in 30 Premier League appearances.

And it appears that the Blues offered the Magpies one of their stars in order to land the Sweden international.

Chelsea offer attacker to Newcastle

Chelsea want to sign a forward from Newcastle and, in exchange, it looks like they are willing to give them one of their own attacking players.

According to The Guardian, the club have offered Nicolas Jackson to their Premier League rivals as they try to recruit Isak.

However, the same outlet claims that Chelsea remain happy with the 23-year-old.

Jackson scored 14 goals in 35 Premier League appearances last season, so it is not a surprise to hear that his employers are pleased with him.

Yet that has not stopped them from offering the Senegal international out it seems.

Why are Chelsea happy with Nico Jackson?

Looking above, Jackson’s numbers were not too bad, especially considering his age.

At times, his overall centre-forward play is also quite good.

During one game last season, former Arsenal striker Alan Smith described his hold-up play as “excellent”.

It was his first campaign in England, so it is no wonder that Chelsea are happy with him.

Jackson is clearly not indispensable, though. Next term, he will need to up his game and score more goals. If not, then the former Villarreal man could be replaced.

The fact that Chelsea are willing to include him in a swap deal tells you that. There is no doubt, then, that the 2024/25 season is going to be a big one for Nicolas Jackson.
