Marc Guiu has been discussing his move from Barcelona to Chelsea, which was confirmed on Monday.

The striker has joined Chelsea on a five-year deal and is their fourth signing of the summer.

Tosin Adarabioyo, Estevao Willian and Omari Kellyman are the other additions the Blues have made, though Estevao will not be able to link-up with Enzo Maresca‘s side until he turns 18.

While Chelsea have managed to bring in Guiu, they could still sign another centre-forward this summer.

Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak has been heavily linked with a move to west London.

Marc Guiu talks Chelsea move

Barcelona are Guiu’s boyhood club and are one of the biggest teams in the world.

However, that did not stop the Spanish youngster from joining Chelsea, who were able to lure him to Stamford Bridge with their “sporting project”.

Explaining why he decided to move to west London this summer, Guiu told Chelsea’s official website: “My main reason for wanting to sign for Chelsea was the football and sporting project the club is offering me here, and the trust everyone who works at the club is putting in me.

“The club has a very interesting plan with a lot of young and exciting players and I think we can do great things.”

Marc Guiu’s stats

Guiu did not play too much football for Barcelona’s first team last season.

In total, the forward made just seven appearances. However, he was able to score a couple of goals, with one actually coming in the Champions League.

It is clear to see, then, that Guiu has potential and could become a big player for Chelsea in the future.

Whether the Spain youth international can make an impact at Stamford Bridge now, though, remains to be seen.

That may be difficult with Nicolas Jackson around and another striker potentially coming in. Ultimately, Guiu is probably going to be one for the future.
