One club could still yet decide to make a move for Chelsea’s £50m first-team player.
A lot of the focus around Stamford Bridge so far this summer has been about incomings, but several individuals have gone the other way as well.
The Blues have sold Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson already in this current transfer window.
Now, a senior Chelsea man is linked with a potential summer exit.
Saudi Arabia club could move for Raheem Sterling
CaughtOffside claims that Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League.
It is understood that the 29-year-old Blues attacker is settled in London and previously indicated a move to Saudi Arabia wouldn’t interest him.
However, the report says that Al Ahli could try to change the mind of the Englishman.
Apparently, there is a possibility they could still make a move to try sign Sterling in this summer transfer window.
This comes after The Athletic recently claimed that there’s an acceptance it will be very difficult for Chelsea to sell Sterling because his wages are in excess of £300,000-a-week.
Chelsea redemption next season?
First of all, Sterling didn’t have the worst 2023/24 season. It just wasn’t on par with the levels he’s previously shown earlier in his career.
The winger still chipped in with 10 goals and eight assists across all competitions last season.
Based on the style of new head coach Enzo Maresca, The Chelsea Chronicle predicts that Sterling could be in for a much better time next year.
Sterling is an out-and-out wide player that played his best football when he was at Manchester City hogging the touchline.
If you look at how Leicester played last year under Maresca, £50m star (BBC) Sterling should thrive.
