Journalist David Ornstein has now claimed that Chelsea are now not in a good position to pull off one of their top signings this summer.
He told The Athletic that he believes the transfer fee and salary that would be involved with bringing in Victor Osimhen at the end of the season is going to cause a number of issues for the Blues.
Osimhen has frequently been touted as a player many at Chelsea are keen to sign in order to finally address their ongoing issue up top.
Nicolas Jackson has had a decent campaign, however a lot of his best work in recent weeks has come as more of a wide attacker.
It has been reported that the current Napoli man is actually the top target for manager Mauricio Pochettino as well as the club, as they prepare for next season.
However, Ornstein has cast doubt over their ability to pull off the deal, stating that the finances involved may cause an issue.
Chelsea unlikely to sign Osimhen
He said: “Chelsea, like many clubs, are tight on PSR and therefore will need to cut their cloth accordingly. Today’s financial results showed that but everything I hear suggests they fully expect to remain compliant and will do what it takes to ensure that.

“It means that when we hear talk of someone like Osimhen being signed this summer, I think that is very unlikely – owing to the transfer fee and salary.”
There have been whispers in the fanbase that they were worried about the money spent in the recent history could be about to affect them going forwards.
It looks as if it is going to be another summer where they need to sell a large amount of players in order to raise funds to complete their own deals.
They will be hoping for big money from the likes of Lewis Hall, Romelu Lukaku, Ian Maatsen and Armano Broja, who are all out on loan elsewhere at the moment.
