Chelsea are keen to bolster their attack before the transfer window closes.

They were hoping that Michael Olise would help them to do that, but the winger has now joined Bayern Munich.

It had been claimed that Chelsea were ready to trigger Olise’s release clause while he was still at Crystal Palace. In the end, though, they chose not to and must now look at other names in their quest to improve their forward line.

Since missing out on the 22-year-old, Chelsea have been linked with quite a few attackers.

The above includes Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi and RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo.

Chelsea see attacker’s versatility as a positive

With Olise off the table, perhaps Chelsea could end up making a move for Adeyemi or Olmo this summer.

It has been claimed that Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in Olmo.

Regarding Adeyemi, he really appeals to the Blues at the moment it seems.

According to 90min, Chelsea want to sign the 22-year-old during this transfer window, seeing his ability to play out wide and up front as a major positive.

The same outlet claims that Adeyemi could cost just £25m.

Karim Adeyemi’s versatility

While Adeyemi played mostly on the left last season, he is capable of starting in more than one position in the frontline.

During the 2023/24 campaign, the German also played on the right and was used up front on a couple occasions.

In his final season at Red Bull Salzburg, Adeyemi made 43 appearances as a centre-forward, according to Transfermarkt.

That versatility could make him a good squad player for Chelsea. But whether the Germany international would be an upgrade on what Enzo Maresca already has is very debatable.

Adeyemi scored just five goals last season, though the Dortmund star did find himself in and out of the team in his defence. And still just 22, he can obviously develop into a much more effective attacker with the right coaching.
