As England booked their place in the final of Euro 2024 for this weekend, it was a Chelsea player who inspired the late dramatics against the Netherlands.

Cole Palmer came off the bench to set up Ollie Watkins for the winning goal of the 2-1 win bang on 90 minutes.

Despite the fact that he played just a handful of minutes last night, his assist saw him move ahead of the likes of Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden in that category for this tournament.

Many Chelsea supporters were impressed again with what they have seen from their player. It has kind of been the story of the tournament so far.

However, this time they took to Twitter to share that they believed his assist was something no one else in the England squad is able to do.

Chelsea star Cole Palmer impresses for England

One user said: “Cold Palmer. He doesn’t do “safe” passes. That’s why he makes things happen. Chelsea struck.”

Another added: “Nobody on the pitch will make that pass except him.”

A third claimed: “Only Messi make this kind of pass tho.”

A fourth claimed: “Better than anybody in that team at doing just that!”

Finally, one user said: “The vision! He could have passed backwards and sideways like all these other completed pass stat players.”

There have been plenty calling for Palmer to feature more at this competition, however he is still yet to start a game at Euro 2024.

With there being just one match to go, it looks unlikely that Gareth Southgate will make any big chances to the starting line-up.

The Three Lions will be taking on Spain in the final, with one of their most impressive players also coming from Stamford Bridge.

Marc Cucurella has continued his individual career renaissance with some more sensational performances for his country, and he will be confident of winning it all on Sunday.

There will be a guaranteed European Champion at Stamford Bridge next season, and that may well be two if England pick up the trophy. Conor Gallagher has certainly played his role in the competition so far.
