In a recent interview on Pulse Fun Facts, Nigerian Afrobeats singer Seun Kuti openly talked about the problems he has in his marriage.
He mentioned how it is hard because his wife likes very expensive things which cost a lot of money.
When his wife Yetunde asked what is the hardest part of their relationship, Seun answered with honesty saying that her monthly allowance, which is a big sum in seven figures, creates a significant financial strain. He joked by adding,
“Her allowance is very high—seven figures every month.” I speak the truth; her pocket money is very big, and she likes expensive things which makes it even more. This is hard because I must work for my money, and it’s not simple.”
Seun, even with the money problems, showed no regret about their marriage and said,
“I don’t believe in regrets; I don’t feel sorry for any part of my life, so I can’t be unhappy about our marriage.”
When Yetunde asked if he would change anything, Seun Kuti jokingly suggested calling on his ancestors to make her taller since their ten-year-old daughter is almost as tall as her mom.
