One Chelsea player appears to be attracting interest from plenty of clubs this summer.

Chelsea are quite stacked in defence, so there could be an exit or two there before the transfer window closes.

For example, in central defence, Enzo Maresca has new signing Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah.

Another new arrival, Renato Veiga, who idolises N’Golo Kante, can also play there.

With all of those names to consider, it would be a surprise if Chelsea did not sell one of their centre-backs.

Chelsea star very reluctant to leave Stamford Bridge

While Chelsea may feel that it would be wise to offload at least one central defender this summer, some of their current options may be keen to stay put.

The above is likely to include Chalobah.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, the 25-year-old has already rejected approaches from other clubs during this transfer window.

On his Substack, he wrote: “SPTC sources understand that Chalobah has received approaches from a handful of clubs already this summer, but he has either turned approaches down, or he has stalled on them.

“And this is because he either hasn’t been interested in said club, and/or he doesn’t even want to leave Chelsea.”

In May, The Telegraph reported that Chelsea value Chalobah at around £25m.

Should Trevoh Chalobah continue to turn down other clubs?

From Chalobah’s perspective, you can see why he would want to stay at Chelsea.

The former England U21 international came through the Chelsea academy. The Blues are his boyhood club.

However, you do wonder how many games he is actually going to play if he remains at Stamford Bridge this summer.

Perhaps not many with the options Chelsea currently have. If Maresca warns Chalobah that that is a possibility, then he should start considering approaches that come his way.

Should Chalobah remain in west London, his first game will be against Manchester City on August 18.
