Chelsea players are now more than a week into pre-season under the new manager at Cobham.
Enzo Maresca has had a number of days to get to grips with his new players as he gets them ready for a tour of the United States.
Maresca has been heard getting his philosophy across early in training, and has been able to work with a number of players who hardly featured last season.
The likes of Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku have all been spotted amongst their teammates. The manager was seen in deep conversation with the captain last week.
Another player who has been present is Wesley Fofana. He didn’t play a single minute last season due to a serious knee injury.
Wesley Fofana spotted with knee strapping
While Chelsea fans will be hoping those woes are behind him, there may have been some concern after seeing some content from the club’s official channels.
Chelsea’s Instagram page showed the Frenchman with strapping on his knee after completing some gym work.
Blues supporters will be praying for better luck to come Fofana’s way this season, with them yet to see his true potential for a prolonged period of time.
He was described at previous club Leicester City as ‘phenomenal’ by manager at the time Brendan Rodgers, suggesting there is plenty more to be seen from him at Stamford Bridge.
Fofana could partner Levi Colwill at Chelsea
There will be plenty of excitement over the potential partnership he could form at the back with Levi Colwill, who now has a senior season under his belt as a first team player.
He will no doubt have been frustrated at the fact he played a large amount of minutes in the left-back role last season under Mauricio Pochettino.
However, it has already been claimed that Colwill can expect to feature at centre-back under Maresca, with that where he sees his best position as going into next season.
