Sky News has gone off air, as the TV channel appears to be hit with ongoing technical issues.

The news channel usually starts its morning show each day at 6am, however today viewers were instead left with a static message apologising for the ‘disruption’.

It read: ‘We apologise for the interuption to this broadcast. We hope to restore the transmission of Sky News shortly.’

After leaving the message in place for five minutes, it transitioned to broadcasting an old Windrush documentary.

Sky News has been contacted for comment.
