Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti seems to really appreciate one Chelsea player, who could end up moving to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Chelsea have a squad blessed with talent. The likes of Cole Palmer, Reece James and Moises Caicedo are all quality footballers, for example.

It is a very big squad, though, with loads of players leaving the club on loan last season, including Kepa Arrizabalaga and Romelu Lukaku.

Kepa and Lukaku could both leave west London again. Lukaku has an agreement with Napoli, so a move there looks highly likely if Victor Osimhen departs.

As for Kepa, he is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia. Al-Ittihad remain a possible destination for Kepa while the transfer window remains open.

Kepa Arrizabalaga could join Real Madrid

While Kepa could end up at Al-Ittihad, it looks like the goalkeeper wants to join Real Madrid.

Kepa spent last season on loan at the Santiago Bernabeu, and there he seemingly became a player who Ancelotti appreciated despite barely playing.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ancelotti and his staff really like the 29-year-old, who could be signed by Real Madrid again if Andriy Lunin departs.

Speaking about Kepa’s future on X, the Italian journalist said: “His plan to wait for Real Madrid is clear and decided, based on what will happen with Lunin’s exit. Ancelotti and his staff appreciated Kepa as player but also as top professional last season, never complaining.”

Kepa could wait until August to join Real Madrid, but if he does not get his move there, then the Saudi Pro League route may have to be seriously considered if the Spaniard is not thinking about it already.

Kepa Arrizabalaga needs Real Madrid move

With Thibaut Courtois being the first-choice goalkeeper at Real Madrid, Kepa is not going to play there.

The Spain international is still 29, so really, he should be looking to join another club where he is going to get game time.

However, if it is a choice between joining Real Madrid and staying at Chelsea, then the former option obviously makes more sense.

Enzo Maresca already has Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic, while Chelsea could sign another goalkeeper before the transfer window closes.

Simply put, there is no room for Kepa at Stamford Bridge. The shot-stopper needs to join Real Madrid, Al-Ittihad or some other club this summer.
