Chelsea great Eden Hazard will be gracing the Stamford Bridge turf again in June when he participates in the annual match for Soccer Aid. Speaking ahead of the charity game, he’s had a bit of fun by naming an all-time Blues five-a-side team.
Now 33, Eden Hazard hanged up his boots last year as a professional footballer.
The Belgian attacker is best known for a glittering seven-year-spell in west London with Chelsea between 2012-19.
He’s certainly in the club’s history books as one of the most technically gifted individuals with a ball at his feet, which is why he gave supporters so many glorious memories. Incidentally, speaking via GOAL’s Front Three YouTube channel a month ago, Antonio Rudiger described Hazard as “unplayable” at Chelsea.
For those who prefer statistics, Hazard scored 110 goals and made 92 assists in 352 Chelsea appearances, winning six major trophies with the London club.
Hazard has now played a little game of picking a five-a-side team of Chelsea greats.
The left-winger’s gone with a bold all-out approach in this fantasy team:

“I’m going to start with myself. Bit of quality, can score goals, and bit of fun for the fans,” Hazard told Soccer Aid.
“I know there’s in Chelsea history there’s a lot of really good defenders, but I’m going to play only with strikers or midfielders because I want the ball. Sorry for all the defenders.
“I’m going to play with Gianfranco Zola number 10, like me.
“I’m going to play with Juan Mata also. Magic left foot. Someone who will never miss control or miss a pass, so I enjoyed to play with him. We only played two years together, but wow, what a moment.
“I have to put Didier Drogba, the king, because he’s going to score the goals.
“I’m going to go with Lamps (Frank Lampard). As a Chelsea legend I have to put Lamps. He’s going to be midfield alone.”

Drafting an alternative Chelsea team
We will try to pick a five-a-side team made up of different past or present Chelsea players to take on Hazard’s super group.
Unlike Eden, we’ll go with a bit more balance.
Let’s start with Petr Cech as the goalkeeper. In front of him, Thiago Silva can start as the ball-playing defender.
We’ll try bring our own technicians to the pitch by picking Cesc Fabregas and Joe Cole.
That leaves Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to lead the line.
