Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in world football and their players are some of the highest-paid.
The Blues started handing out enormous salaries when Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003 and they have done so ever since, including under the current ownership.
Some of Chelsea’s top players have – arguably – earned their wages through outstanding performances week-in, week-out.
Meanwhile, others are earning millions even though there is often no place for them in the matchday squad.
The Chelsea Chronicle takes a look at every player’s salary in 2024/25, according to Capology, with two lacklustre signings on £325,000 per week.

Chelsea salaries 2024/25
Goalkeepers
- Kepa Arrizabalaga – £150,000 pw
- Robert Sanchez – £60,000 pw
- Marcus Bettinelli – £35,000 pw
- Djordje Petrovic – £25,000 pw
- Lucas Bergstrom – unknown
Kepa Arrizabalaga is still at the club after spending the 2023/24 season on loan at Real Madrid. Chelsea will be desperate to get his reported £150,000 per week off the wage bill as soon as possible. The Blues’ other shot-stoppers are all paid less than average among their first-team players.
Defenders
- Reece James – £250,000 pw
- Ben Chilwell- £200,000 pw
- Wesley Fofana – £200,000 pw
- Marc Cucurella – £175,000 pw
- Malang Sarr – £120,000 pw
- Tosin Adarabioyo – £120,000 pw
- Levi Colwill – £100,000 pw
- Benoit Badiashile – £90,000 pw
- Axel Disasi – £80,000 pw
- Trevoh Chalobah – £50,000 pw
- Malo Gusto – £45,000 pw
- Alfie Gilchrist – unknown
Reece James is one of the highest-paid players at the West London club, having signed a six-year deal in 2022. He will need to play a larger role in the upcoming season than in previous years to justify the reported £250,000 per week he is on.
Elsewhere, left-backs Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella are among the top earners at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Malang Sarr is close to joining Ligue 1 side RC Lens, which will relieve Chelsea’s hierarchy.

Midfielders
- Raheem Sterling – £325,000 pw
- Christopher Nkunku – £195,000 pw
- Enzo Fernandez – £180,000 pw
- Moises Caicedo – £150,000 pw
- Mykhailo Mudryk – £100,000 pw
- Carney Chukwuemeka – £100,000 pw
- Cole Palmer – £75,000 pw
- Conor Gallagher – £50,000 pw
- Noni Madueke – £50,000 pw
- Romeo Lavia – £45,000 pw
- Lesley Ugochukwu – £45,000 pw
- Renato Veiga – £25,000 pw
- Andrey Santos – £10,000 pw
- Cesare Casadei – £7,500 pw
- Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – unknown
- Omari Kellyman – unknown
- Angelo Gabriel – unknown
When Chelsea offered Raheem Sterling a reported £325,000 per week, they must have thought that he would become one of their key players. That has not been the case as he has so far failed to reach the heights of his time under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
The Blues will be pleased that the next three highest-paid midfielders (Christopher Nkunku, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo) should remain important players for the foreseeable future.
Forwards
- Romelu Lukaku – £325,000 pw
- Marc Guiu – £100,000 pw
- Nicolas Jackson – £65,000 pw
- Deivid Washington – £40,000 pw
- Armando Broja – £40,000 pw
- Datro Fofana – £30,000 pw
While Sterling has been underwhelming at Chelsea, the signing of Romelu Lukaku has been nothing short of a disaster. After falling out with the club just weeks after joining, he has spent the past two seasons on loan in Serie A. The Blues will happily see him leave this summer for much less than the £97.5 million fee they paid Inter Milan to bring him in.
Marc Guiu’s reported £100,000 per week contract is one of the most surprising given that he has not proven himself at senior level. Nicolas Jackson, on the other hand, is on a reported £65,000 per week despite scoring 14 Premier League goals last season.
