Chelsea are getting more than used to life with their new manager after the decision was made to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Enzo Maresca has more than impressed in his opening weeks in charge, however there was a real possibility the club could have looked another direction.

They were linked with a number of names to take over, with one of them being Roberto de Zerbi after he left Brighton.

Chelsea legend Eden Hazard hinted he would be satisfied with him taking over, however the club ended up looking another direction.

The Italian has since taken over at Marseille, and is now looking to bring in one player who the Blues have also been linked with.

Roberto De Zerbi bids for Chelsea target Filip Jorgensen

According to El Periodico Mediterraneo, the Ligue 1 side have made a bid to sign Filip Jorgensen, who has a release clause of around £38m.

The 22-year-old recorded the most saves in La Liga last season with Villarreal, and is on the radar at Stamford Bridge as they assess their options for the new season.

Doubts over Djordje Petrovic

It has been reported that there are doubts over whether Djordje Petrovic will suit Maresca ball for next season, and that he could be available for sale for the right price.

This means the likelihood at the minute is that Robert Sanchez will start the season between the sticks, however there is by no means universal confidence that he will be the one to be trusted in the long-term.

It remains to be seen if any side activate the release clause of the goalkeeper, however Chelsea have already made contact over a potential deal.

Reports have stated that Jorgensen is keen to make the move to Stamford Bridge, and a new goalkeeper certainly feels as if it is high on the list of what the club are looking to bring in before the end of the transfer window.
